I think I rarely post about anything music related in the last half of a year because it's pretty hectic and when I'm stressed I plunged into the world of weird or old stuff like Pale's Too Much if it's sad or Maybe This Time from the musical Cabaret sang by Liza Minnelli if I felt like I need a pat in the back. Plus it's often that the music I most anticipated all released in spring/summer and there's nothing left for me in the fall/winter except holiday songs. But this year is kinda different because there are some interesting releases at the end of the year so, i decided to recap the music (that I listened to mostly or grabbed my attention): [this is the music that i like listening to in 2013 so probably they're none of your favorites... i also don't include a lot of rock or hip-hop in general because i don't listen to it much in 2013. #sorrynotsorry?]
The feels from the intro tho...
This might be a little overplayed butttt it's fun!
London Grammar is one of my biggest favorite that I've discovered in 2013. Starting Wasting My Young Years, to Darling Are You Gonna Leave Me and then to the whole If You Wait album I've become more and more mesmerized by them. https://soundcloud.com/londongrammar
No doubt that Arctic Monkey's AM is filled with gold. Just pick anything you like, Why'd You Only Call Me When You're High is currently my fav.
The noob who bombed her way with Royals and comments on popstars. But her songa in Pure Heroine are all as great as her luscious thick curls.
The whole of Beyonce's self-titled album is amazing. My top favorite is Pretty Hurts, followed by Rocket, ***Flawless, Blow, Partition and then the rest. Go listen/watch to all of it because it's good.
Those are the songs that accompanied me through everyday routines. So sorry for lack of diversity in genre thooo. Have a great holiday peeps!
I thought no major releases will happened at this time of the year, but i thought wroooong~ Here are some new releases (for those who spent this Christmas Eve with the internet) that might caught your attention:
Birth In Reverse - St. Vincent
Open Up (That's Enough) - The Dead Weather
I'm Aquarius - Metronomy
The Perfect Mess - Blood Red Shoes
Boys In The Wood - Black Lips
My favorite is St. Vincent's Birth In Reverse. Watch out for their albums coming up next year!!
Lop lop.
Meh, probably not exactly summer in here because of the weather but summer also indicates the long holiday in the middle of the year for people in school or college to take a break. Because once you go to the real world, there won't be breaks anymore. But set the scary future worries aside, and let loose like a chicken on sugar rush! And Mother Alien have prepared old and new hits to be the soundtrack of those crazy moments~
Midnight City - M83
Punching In A Drean - The Naked and Famous
The City - The 1975
Burn - Ellie Goulding
Girlfriend - Icona Pop
Tonight's The Kind Of Night (RAC mix) - Noah and The Whale
Do It - Tuxedo
Bad Idea - AlunaGeorge
212 (ft. Lazy Jay) - Azealia Banks
Kids - Sleigh Bells
Endless Fantasy - Anamanaguchi
We Came To Smash (ft. Dev) - Martin Solveig
Wasting My Young Years (Kids of the Apocalypse remix) - London Grammar
sama satu lagi ada lagunya Blackstreet judulnya No Diggity dicover sama Alice Jemima tapi entah kenapa for some reason video nya ga nongol kalo di link di sini. Jadi di post berikut yah you aliens.
So have a great weekend! Kisses from space xx
Hey there! We landed early this week due to technical reasons, plus Mother Alien will fly to Jupiter tomorrow. A lot of rhythm and beat btw, anyway here it goes:
212 by Azealia Banks
Do It by Tuxedo
Wicked Games by The Weeknd
Get Some (Beck remix) by Lykke Li
Tessellate (Alt-J cover) by Ellie Goulding
Enjoy! Have a great weekend guys! Long live and prosper!
Red. Orange. Yellow.
I'm all about those colors. Warm and hot and strong and passionate colors. When i love, i love hard. I get super excited and enthusiastic. And i know that these few sentences can be read in another way, i realised that, you internet perverts.
Back to the game, as an expressive person it's very easy to express my love towards things that i'm very passionate about. Though there comes those times where i go completely speechless and can't perform words to express what's happening inside this little head of mine.
And i just realised a few moments ago that i'm very passionate about a lot of things. One time a friend of mine said to me that she doesn't understand the shit that i tweeted most of the time, but she enjoyed them because it seems the things that i talked about is very cool and awesome and hence why i sound so excited.
Same thing with food. When i talk about the flavors that touches my tongue, i can go on and on about the so-called food-gasm that happened in my mouth, and it seldom happens that the person i'm with ordered the same dish that i ordered just because it looks that i'm enjoying it very much and looks very delicious but turns out they don't like the flavor that i'm digging and got confused.
But my point is, as long as the heart is still pumping bloods, we all have the ability to be passionate about things. And i think i'm lucky that i know what i'm passionate about. I love music, i love how the melody and the beat blends and helps create feelings and stirs up your emotion, i love how it translates differently for everyone, i love how music won't disappear and how it can capture moments and move people. I love art, i love how everyone can create something pure and honest, and i see people and understand them through art and music as well. I love how everything that we create with passion and emotion and thoughts can be seen as art. I love books, i love how it's filled with words and pictures and how people can be so eloquent and can arranged words into sentences into paragraphs and tell stories with them. And i love them because people can't cut you in the middle of sentence with written words. They just have to read and eventually listen to you. I love how poetic and romantic it can sound. I love movies, i love how a group of people can bring those words to life. I love that it consists of a lot of things like pictures and words and music, and how collaboration can get you somewhere and i love seeing movies because i love seeing people's point of views and seeing things from others' eyes and see things that we never noticed and get emotional over fictional characters because of how much we can relate to their feelings. I love food and how it fed people and the tons of flavors that melts together in your mouth and how it gives your stomach a warm and homey feeling. And how it can bring people together over a meal and how a simple dish like a sunny-side up egg and rice with tabasco can bring a smile. I love chocolate and how the bitter and the sweetness blends and that a small piece of chocolate can give you energy and makes you happy. I love all of those things and with passion alone you can survive the gloomiest day. And it's amazing that those things that you're passionate about can takes you away momentarily from the pain and it makes life easier and makes you more positive and optimistic and how can it drives you.
And that's why we all need passion to get through things. To drive and strive and energized us. And besides that, it felt amazing when you do things that you love.
And just like my favorite colours, those shades of red, i am a passionate person. And i hope you too.
Mother Alien is very sorry for the delay because she's busy with making patterns in the corn field all night long. Anyway she wants to share some of her favorite The Beatles' covers! So don't hate, we know The Beatles are awesome and irreplaceable, but these covers are great and some are singing from a different perspective. And when people do covers it's because they love the artists, right?
I Want You (She's So Heavy) covered by The Last Shadow Puppets miles kane and alex turner together? simply awesome
Help! covered by Justine Dorsey this is an acapella cover, but the way hervoice alone ringing in my ear...
Come Together covered by Joe Cocker, Martin Luther this is a famous cover from Across the Universe, but it never gets old. the way the different atmosphere this song brought is just amazing
Eleanor Rigby covered by Rhett & Josh this is an instrumental cover, and it might not mind blown you to pieces, but hearing the string plain and simple is a different experience
Can't Buy Me Love covered by US this is a fun cover and definitely a favorite! plus can't help but notice that love is in the air, as cheesy as that sounds~
And that is it! Hope you all enjoy this post and have a great weekend! xoxo
It's been a very slow this week here in Yellow Land. So many things needed to be done but it felt like a never-ending task.... So i put a bit of something something together and here are 5 tracks that i played most in the past week
Feels Like Yesterday by American Authors it's good to see your face / but i know things won't change / though you seem so far away / feels like yesterday /
Stay (ft. Hayden Calnin) by Tully On Tully i've probably shown my love for this song a couple time in other socmed platform. and i just can't get it outta my head
Blood, Tears and Gold by Hurts i honestly forgot if it's a friend of mine or a book that i read that told me about this song. either way, i'm glad he/she/it did it
Always on the Run by Yuksek i just love the piano and the melody and the whole song
Cough Cough by Everything Evrerything i don't know what to say...my mind is slowly drifting off and shutting down...
Thank you guys for reading and listening, please comment or say something via other socmed about songs, artists or albums that you think i should hear no matter old or new. Have a great weekend!
Sorry for the delay guys, but i can assure you this set of tracks are gonna be awesome. Cause it's...songs from the 90s, bitches! Yeah i grew up in the 90s so i have some kind of love for the era. Besides the 'anthemic' hit such as Wonderwall, Creep and Everbody Hurts thousands of other songs stucked in my mind from that particular era and it'll be awesome to share the nostalgic moment.
Linger by The Cramberries
a few days ago, in the middle of the day the chorus of Linger played in my mind like a broken record. i got home and instantly search for it to fall in love all over again
Around The World by Daft Punk
i think we can go on and on singing along with this track
Common People by Pulp
though i didn't discover this song in the 90s or my young years, i like this song and when i found out this is from the 90s i instantly want to put it in this post
Killing In The Name by Rage Against The Machine
oh man, this song is just...perfect in anyway
Glory Box by Portishead
i discover this song from one of theThe Daily Guru's videos, and i can't help but agree that this is a sexy song....this song instantly became one of my favorites
That's all for this week guys, thank you for reading. Have a nice weekend and until the next post!!
Most of the time, we hear certain songs in a certain mood. And this week has been very weird and confusing... Five chillax smooth catchy tracks to accompany the confused ones.
Killing Switch by Last Lynx
Sugarplum by Eugene McGuinness
Lady Luck by Jamie Woon
Cruel by St. Vincent
Send The Pain On by Chrome Sparks
I hope we all sorted things out in the end..................................................
Well...your choice.
3. Self-discovery. Nah ini nih. INI NIH. WOY.
Jadi pertama: Krisis Identitas.
Kedua: Krisis Kepercayaan Diri
Ini juga mematikan nih. DEATHLY DEADLY DIE DEAD, ETC. Bye bye.
Ketiga: Krisis (fill in the blank)
Bengong deh liat kertas kosong.
4. Trust & Genuinity
Pengennya sih balik ke playgroup dimana semua senang bahagia dan baik selalu bukan cuma kalo ada maunya doang...ato at least balik ke sd dimana kalo lu sebel yaudah sebel kalo seneng ya seneng, kaga ada yang namanya zona abu-abu...yaudahlah kalo soal tulus apa enggak bisa panjang lagi curhatnya. Intinya kalo ragu akan ketulusan orang, gausah ragu, lupain aja. Cari muka anak kecil yang senyum balik ke elu, nah 100% tulus dah tu senyum.
Gue mau menarik kesimpulan...tapi apa yah...
Intinya, lagi agak teen life crisis nih.
I hope i figure this shit out soon...wait for me.
Bisous!
Weekend is coming up and it's time to hear some good music to accompany you when traffic jam hits the road.
Wasting My Young Years by London Grammar i love the sentimental atmosphere the piano brings that enhances the unique vocals and the steady beats, and come on it's pretty relate-able lyric wise
Never Gonna Let You Go by Esthero a fun and cute track with obsessive psychotic lyrics and catchy notes
Kill and Run by Sia i just need to add one of the soundtracks for the upcoming The Great Gatsby movie, and since everyone is still excited by Florence and Lana's contribution for the soundtrack, we can enjoy Sia's strong voice in Kill and Run that, like reviewers said, more suited in a Bond movie.
Crown On The Ground by Sleigh Bells this one is an oldie but a goodie, definitely not a ballad or a cute pop song but it sure will jiggle your head.
Happy by C2C featuring Derek Martin just play the damn video
That's all for this week! I hope you have a great one :D
P.S. Anyway a lot of cool new albums (Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Phoenix, James Blake, etc) came out and will come out, so i'll talk about the ones that have arrived hopefully soon... And the upcoming ones are Vampire Weekend, 30 Seconds to Mars, The National and Daft Punk (and a lot more actually) which we all hope that each one of them are gonna be awesome.
Yep. I'm alive. Eight months has passed by since the last time i posted something. Fase life's suck gue emang udah lewat. Tapi bukan berarti nothing sucks at all. I just choose to ignore it. Or at least pathetically try. Abis selesai nyapu pecahan otak yang udah melebur kemana-mana, i'll try to post something more often. I do miss blogging.
But the think is, arranging words into a full understandable sentence that make sense is fucking hard. The brain is so fucking spacious and complicated and full of thoughts, un-arranged and intertwined.
Til then.
This fits the moment. Sounds happy, but it's actually a bit sad.
